Something a Little Different

I tried something a little different last week. I wanted to make some cool-looking pens to take to school. Yes, those are teeny-tiny sea turtles and star fish. Both are made with what's called "canes." Canes have always been something I've struggled with. To make them, you have to roll the clay into a log-shape and cover it with rolled out sheets of the next color. They look really cool if done right. The flowers on the second pen turned out pretty good, but the butterfly and the shells on the sea turtles didn't turn out as good. I love the sea turtle one best, but I really like those orange flowers, too.
